Congratulations to CCSC senior Gaurav Chatterjee, who won a $5,000 college scholarship from the ACE Mentor Program at the program’s final presentation last week. ACE Boston awarded $26,000 in scholarships to ten seniors at the event, and Gaurav was one of two winners at the highest level.
Gaurav and his brother Arnav, a junior, have both participated in ACE’s extra-curricular program in architecture, construction and engineering throughout their time as high school students at CCSC. Other members of CCSC’s ACE team are: Tristan Pepin ’14, Mehret Tadesse ’14, Masroque Musa ’14, Sammuel Clark ’14, Olakunle Awal ’14 and Trevon Bennett ’15.
The eight CCSC students have been meeting weekly since last fall with mentors from the industry to develop architectural and construction plans to renovate the recreational facilities and grounds of an actual school in East Boston. Last week they presented their final design boards, engineering specifications and cost projections before a panel of judges from local firms and an audience of practicing industry professionals and family members.
