Our last post was about a CCSC teacher committed to being an agent of social change through her career in education. A commitment to social change runs through CCSC students, too. Last spring Christy Felix ’16 launched the One Problem at a Time community service club. OPAAT aims to raise awareness of important social issues and to involve students in activities to help make the world a better place.
The club’s first outing this year was volunteering at the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk last weekend. Along with faculty advisor Ann Cheng, school nurse Pam Bajada and guidance counselor Isaac Hendrickson, about 30 students pitched in by making snacks for the walkers and cheering them on through Sunday’s rain.
